It will be time for surgery soon,
I'll have a scar white like the moon.
Now the day I've feared is here,
I know my family will be near.
I've heard the nurses are nice,
all I get to eat is ice.
I'm getting metal in my back,
I won't be hungry for snacks.
I'll be in the hospital for a week,
I hope my family doesn't freak.
When this over my back will be straight,
and for that I just can't wait.
Hi Kate, my name is Jen and I heard about you through a friend from chruch. I believe she knows your aunt (a hairdresser?). When I was 7, I found out that I had scoliosis, and it continued to get worse. At 13, I had surgery. I have really enjoyed reading your blog. I understand everything that you're going through. And this surgery, it reallyt will make you stronger. You'll overcome more in one day than more people will overcome in a years time. The scar will fade with time. It's been 7 years since my surgery and I hardly even notice it.
ReplyDeleteI won't tell you things will be easy, because they won't. Recovery is difficult. It is painful. But if your nurses and doctors are anything like mine were, you're in great hands!
I had the same fears as you, espcially number 1. But I'm here today! I'm looking forward to rading your blog post-surgery.

Hey Kate. I'm a friend from school, I read this and got worried. I'm glad to see how you just live a normal life besides the fact of this. I am really hoping your surgery goes good. Text me ASAP :P

My sister Kate is one of the best poet people I have ever met in fact she is the only one.She is writing poems a lot like 1/2 of 1/4 of her time.I hope her surgery goes fast.Im in the waiting room and I Want to see her now.
